Andrew Webb- Buffington


Andrew Webb-Buffington is the Deputy Director of JSSOAR. Andrew is an experienced Mechanic, Technician, Technical Diver, Mechanical Engineering student, and is also a Veteran of the United States Army. He is driven by his love for Astronautics and the pursuit of space travel. His goals with JSSOAR are to create better accessibility to STEM education and to excite young minds of the wonders of space travel. Andrews, ambition to work in the field of space travel and research stems from his childhood. Nothing in school excited him more than learning about the mystery of space and reading about the astronauts bravely working in space. He joined the military (U.S. Army) in 2016 as a Fire Support Specialist, (Artillery) to serve his country. During his time, he earned his wings as an Airborne Paratrooper and worked alongside 20 different foreign armies during his three year tour in Europe. After his service he worked in many trades to improve his skills which includes becoming a mechanic for automotive, marine and aeronautical. He also mastered his scuba diving skills by becoming a Technical Diver. He was accepted and graduated from the Advanced PoSSUM Space Academy in February.
